What is the Eucharist?
The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life: the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, truly and substantially present under the species (appearances) of wheat bread and grape wine. The Eucharist is not a symbol, but really Jesus Christ fully present. When we faithfully receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, we are intimately and truly united with Jesus, and, by participation in the Mystical Body of Christ, united with others.
